2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition results are in!

It's a very important day for us as our new winery takes shape. We entered our very first wine competition, the SF Chronicle with some 6800 wines submitted for judging. And on Friday at 4:30 the results were published - we medaled for each of the three wines we submitted!

This is tremendous news for us as we find our name published amongst some benchmark wineries I've looked up to for years. It also puts us 'on the map' of lauded Lodi wineries.

We achieved bronze for the 2015 Maribor (a GSM blend) and 2015 Mourvedre, and got a silver medal for our 2015 Grenache.

What also excites me is that I know I have more award winners in barrel right now. I've gone to great lengths to find some of the best Lodi Rules Certified Sustainable winegrapes to make wines from. I'm going to start preparations for bottling the 2017 vintage wines.

As for the 2018 wines, we've got some big ones. We have some reds pushing over 16% alcohol, and some big, bold, intense flavors to match. The last lot - Primitivo - is the last one still undergoing malolactic fermentation. Right now I'm working on racking them all and getting them buttoned up for barrel aging.

We'll enter some wines into the California State Fair later this year and hope for the best. Stay tuned and I hope to see you in our tasting room - the medals should be arriving soon!
